Client Alert!
As of June 18, 2025, the U.S. State Department has resumed interviews for F, M, and J visa applicants—with a critical update: applicants must now make their social media accounts public. Consular officers will now review online content for any signs of “hostile attitudes” toward the U.S.
Additionally, interview slots are being prioritized for schools where international students make up less than 15% of enrollment. Applicants to larger universities may face longer delays.
What to do now:
- Review and clean up public social media content.
- Ensure profiles are set to “public” before your visa interview.
- Apply as early as possible to avoid delays.
